The store theater, 31.10.24 - 02.11.24

The Shop Theater invites you to three days of interdisciplinary original works throughout Beit Teper: puppet theater shows, performance, music and dance.

Beit Teper, the building where the store is located, is a source of inspiration for us. The industrial architecture, the dungeons, the rough materiality. At the festival we created a space of artistic dialogue with the building, which enables an experience of playful viewing in the various spaces.

After a year of mourning and remembrance after the 7.10, we will engage in the first festival in dealing with loss and war, and we will try to find hope and comfort in art and in meeting you, our audience.

OCTOBER

In the first months of the current terrible war, out of an inability to cope and contain everything, I shut myself in the studio to disconnect from the world and imagined an orchestra.

Pain, anger, violence, sadness and hope poured into exploding sounds of metal brass, intense drums and percussion and layers upon layers of symbols and synthesizers.

11 musicians: 3 trumpets, 3 trombones, tuba, drums, and 3 electronic players came together to make this musical dream / nightmare a reality, with the intention of releasing hard energy through music and putting positive energy into action.

An instrumental piece for 11 brass players, drums and electronics. An orchestrated response to the absurdity of war.

Don Q

An adaptation of the novel "Don Quixote" by Cervantes

We will go on a journey in a miniature theater, following the great idealists, the eternal dreamer, the sleeper with open eyes - Don Quixote! In the play, we will try to answer the very important question - do we create our own destiny, or are we merely the bearers of destiny's tools.

The Circus of Nothingness

She rides the trapeze up in the air, He stands in the Ring below,

She decides to just fucking let go..."

How do you deal with loss? The nothingness circus is the metaworld, where the clown is a floating memory, the elephants are the tremors of anger, the clowns are longing and the horses are the joys of madness. Mary's spirit leads Charlie, through memories, feelings and fantasy, on his way to find himself again.

Over 80 puppets, an empty circus arena and two performers looking for solace.
